About Me

I am Dr. Richard Hart, a clinical psychological associate for Dr. Tammy Dobbs. I began my educational journey into the province of psychology in 2008; my Bachelor of Arts degree was obtained in 2013 from California Lutheran University. My educational path did not remit at that point; from there, I went on to obtain my Master of Science (2017) in clinical psychology and in turn, my Doctor of Psychology (2021), both from California Southern University.

I specialize in the individual treatment of Tweens, Adolescents, and Adults at all stages in their lifespan, whose following diagnoses can be observed at any life stage: Mood Disorders (and Bipolar Disorders), Trauma and Stressor-Related disorders, and Anxiety Disorders (i.e., panic, phobic, obsessional, and socially inhibited disorders).

Psychotherapy is a two-way street, no different than any other relationship. This means there is a mutual commitment to the therapy process. Change is brought about only with consistency. This holds good no matter what the severity or kind of mental disturbance is being dealt with. By submitting oneself to such a process, individual needs are met and goals are attained.

Ruptures within interpersonal relationships are essentially the chief source of an individual's intrapsychic conflicts and emotional suffering. However, such conflicts reside outside of most people's conscious awareness. In collaboration with the psychodynamic practitioner, the working-through process of the unconscious can be attained.

As mentioned before, the therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance. Without this, the pathogenesis of symptoms could never be known, worked through, or resolved. This alliance is built upon empathy, authenticity, and trust, in a safe and supportive environment.
